Bet Hadar views volunteering as a national asset that deserves nurturing. Volunteering is essential during routine times and becomes even more crucial during crisis and emergency situations. It can be initiated by the volunteers themselves or in response to the system’s call for assistance.
Volunteering at Bet Hadar enriches the well-being of patients and residents, who are part of our community for short or long periods. It can take the form of individual volunteers sharing joyful and difficult moments with patients or residents, creating a special bond and leaving a lasting memory.
When a group of volunteers from an organization comes for a short-term volunteering, both the volunteers and patients/residents experience a shared sense of connection and mutual aid, leaving both sides with a feeling of significance and awareness.
During a visit from local high school students, they sat with residents in the nursing department and heard fascinating stories about their lives while distributing sufganiyot (jelly donuts). The stories evoked fond memories and experiences, passing them on to a new generation.
Volunteering stems from the free choice of individuals to help, bring joy, and assist others. Bet Hadar sees great importance in promoting activities for the benefit of patients’ well-being, tailored to their unique needs.
Various organizations participate in volunteering, including banks, educational institutions, artists, work groups, health offices, the Ashdod Conservatory, IDF, police, security forces, and more.
Collaborations with these organizations have allowed residents and patients to enjoy joint activities outside the institution, sharing experiences and trips with numerous volunteers.
Volunteering is especially meaningful during holiday seasons when volunteers join patients to share joy, distribute treats, and exchange smiles.
In addition to medical and para-medical treatments at Bet Hadar’s Rehabilitation and Medical Center, we emphasize promoting activities for our patients’ benefit. The range of activities is broad and flexible, adapting to patients’ needs, including private and group initiatives.
These activities contribute to our patients’ mental and physical well-being, supporting their rehabilitation and recovery process. Bet Hadar is open to collaborations with any factor and welcomes initiatives.
