Prosthetics, Orthotics & Mobility Aid Clinic
The rate of those suffering from foot deformations, walking pain, injuries, physical impairments and even amputations increases over the years. Some patients do not know that they are entitled to assistance from the Ministry of Health, which includes fitting an assistive walking accessory such as custom-made shoes, a device for leg support or a prosthesis to restore mobility. Evaluation by a professional and the fitting of a suitable accessory can greatly improve functionality and help the patient return to an active and full life.
Since 2017, Bet Hadar has operated an outpatient clinic that provides services to the insured members of all the HMO’s. The clinic is managed by Mr. Erel Hershko, a physical therapist licensed in the field of walking devices, medical shoes and prostheses for arms and legs. You can receive an appointment for the clinic through the Lewis Rehabilitation Institute, which coordinates inquiries on this matter from all over the country. After scheduling an appointment at Beit Hadar, you must arrive with an appropriate promissory note from your HMO.
At the clinic you will undergo an examination that will determine whether you meet the criteria set by the Ministry of Health for eligibility for walking devices, medical shoes or prosthetics. If so, you will receive an appropriate prescription and an explanation of the continuation of the process, which includes choosing an authorized supplier, checking eligibility for additional funding and more.
