Senior Physician

מנהל רפואי: ד"ר יוסף משעל

The medical staff at the Bet Hadar Medical Center is composed of experienced, senior physicians specializing in internal medicine and/or geriatrics and general practitioners, all of whom have many years of experience in treating elderly patients.

The medical set-up also includes specialist doctors who serve as consultants in the various fields of medicine: orthopedics, neurology, intensive care and anesthesia, rehabilitation, infectious diseases, ear, nose and throat. These doctors are available to provide advice as needed.

In total, the medical staff includes 17 full-time, permanent physicians and 6 consultant physicians.

The medical staff at Bet Hadar Medical Center regularly participate in conferences in Israel and abroad, which enrich their professional knowledge. In addition, our doctors take part in activities in the community, in medical boards in various aspects and in the training of the nursing staff and the paramedical staff.

During normal working hours, all doctors, including senior physicians, are present at Bet Hadar to provide an immediate, appropriate and humane response to patients and their families.

In the evening and at night, there are always 2 doctors on duty and a specialist on call.

Medically, Bet Hadar is one of the largest, oldest and leading geriatric centers in Israel; it is under the supervision of the Ministry of Health and always receives high grades in the Ministry’s inspections.

A patient admitted to Beit Hadar undergoes an evaluation by a multidisciplinary team that includes doctors, nurses, dieticians, occupational therapists and occupation workers, physical therapists, social workers and a speech therapist. Following the multidisciplinary evaluation of each patient, an individual treatment plan is built, according to his needs and abilities, with an emphasis on the geriatric aspects founded on a desire to preserve or restore the patient’s functioning and quality of life.

We maintain continuous and close contact with the patient’s relatives in order to update the patient’s condition and involve the family in the treatment.

We wish you good health!
